Detroit in bid to host Summer X Games

4-day extreme sports event could be held in Detroit for 3 years beginning in 2014

DETROIT - The city of Detroit could be in line to host the Summer X Games.

If Detroit won the bid, it would host the event for three years beginning in 2014.

An announcement is expected Monday to announce where the games will be held.

Some of the Detroit sites for the games include Ford Field and Eastern Market.

The games feature skateboarding, BMX and Motorcross.

The games are a four-day event.
