Detroit man gets life in prison for girlfriend's murder

Antoine L. Wilson convicted of 1st degree murder in shooting death of Ajena Lashay Peavy

DETROIT – The Detroit man found guilty of shooting and killing his girlfriend in April will now spend the rest of his life in prison.

Antoine L. Wilson was convicted of first-degree murder, two counts of felony firearms charges and assault in the death of 18-year-old Ajena Lashay Peavy.

Police said the 29-year-old went to Peavy's home on Garvin Street and shoot her to death while she sat on her porch.

Peavy's mother came outside to see what the commotion was and Wilson pointed his gun at her before fleeing, police said.

Wilson turned himself into police the next day and was charged with Peavy's murder.

He has been sentenced to life in prison.
