Eastpointe man charged with Highland Park Mayor Shooting case

Jair Harris charged with shooting of Mayor Deandre Windon

HIGHLAND PARK, Mich. – A 25-year-old Eastpointe man has been charged in connection with the shooting of Highland Park Mayor Deahndre Windon.

Jair Harris is charged with  three counts of Felonious Assault , one count of Carrying a Concealed Weapon, one count of Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon with Intent , one count of Felon in Possession of a Firearm,  one count of Felony Firearm and the misdemeanor Careless Discharged of a Firearm Causing Injury.

Mayor Windom was shot just before 2 a.m. Nov. 17th at the Key Club in the 1400 block of Franklin.

Highland Park City Attorney Todd Russell Perkins told Local 4 the mayor was out with friends and family and didn't know the gunman.
