  • Over 270 Closed Circuit TV Cameras
  • Over 95 Dynamic Message Signs
  • Over 200 Microwave Vehicle Detection Sensors in conjunction with Probe Traffic Detectors

SEMTOC has partnerships with the Michigan State Police along with local road commissions. When monitoring hundreds of cameras, they know exactly where road crews need to be dispatched or emergency services are needed. There is also a social media team that posts where accidents scenes are across the metro area.

Before you hit the road, MDOT encourages you to check out the The MI Drive Web site (www.michigan.gov/drive). It's the direct link between SEMTOC and the public. The site is updated in real time with:

  • Freeway Incidents
  • Construction
  • Camera Feeds
  • Speed Data
