Pipes burst, flood Grand Lofts in Detroit

Residents try to clean inches of water from their homes

DETROIT – Some residents in the Grand Lofts on West Grand Boulevard in southwest Detroit woke up Thursday morning to water pouring into their hallways.

Residents told Local 4 a pipe had burst the night before and water had continually been raining from a second floor ceiling.

Katie Craig was used a broom to try and sweep the water out of her home in an effort to save some of her artwork.

"This is dangerous," she said.

As of Thursday morning, Grand Loft residents told Local they had not heard from the building owners or maintenance regarding what to do.
