Rappel down a Detroit skyscraper for charity

DETROIT - Rappelers will climb down a 25-story downtown Detroit skyscraper May 8th for a good cause.

The event is called Over the Edge Detroit and is sponsored by Bedrock Real Estate Services, Quicken Loans and the Detroit2Nepal Foundation.

The event will raise funds for sanitation, education and health programs in Nepal and the Detroit Area Pre-College Engineering Program, which funds local science, technology, engineering and math programs.

Participants will rappel down downtown Detroit's First National Building.

Participants must be 18 or older and must raise a minimum of $1000 to secure their spot to participate in the event. Space is limited and no previous rappelling experience is necessary.
