DETROIT - Max and Erica Scherzer will host a skills clinic for Detroit PAL's RBI baseball and softball teams at Wayne State University, July 1.

The clinic will run from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., teaching 12 to 19-year-old players fundamentals of enhanced fielding, batting and pitching techniques.

Wayne State University's baseball coach, Ryan Kelley, as well as members of the university's baseball and softball teams, will also be there.

The Scherzer family, in partnership with the Detroit Tigers Foundation, an affiliate of Ilitch Charities, will present a donation to Detroit PAL in support of the 2014 RBI teams.

This will give the 45 players in attendance the opportunity to compete across the county, where they will face competitors from different places and backgrounds, and receive excelled coaching during the season.
