June 16, 2014: Father says this was the last time he saw Charlie Bothuell.
June 17, 2014: Police ask public for help with their search for Bothuell.
June 21, 2014: Bothuell's father, Charles Bothuell IV, says he took a polygraph at police request. Results were inconclusive.
June 24, 2014: Police use dogs to again search the townhouse. The elder Bothuell appears on cable news asking for help to find his son.

June 25, 2014: Detroit Police Chief James Craig holds news conference about case. A few hours later, the boy is found alive and well, behind a makeshift barricade in his father's basement. Craig says there was bedding and food in the Bothuell's hiding place. He also said it was unlikely the young man could have constructed his barricade by himself.

June 26, 2014: Charlie Bothuell is released from the hospital. Police are debriefing him. He was then given to his biological mother. Charlie's stepmother, Monique Dillard-Bothuell, is taken into police custody for violating parole.
June 27, 2014: Monique Dillard-Bothuell, Charlie's stepmon, appears in court on a probation violation. She was given a $5000 personal bond and will be required to wear a tether.
June 28, 2014: Charlie's father picks up Dillard-Bothuell from the William Dickerson Detention Facility in Hamtramck at around 1:55 p.m. She was released with a tether.
July 10, 2014: State investigators release petitions alleging abuse on the part of father Charlie Bothuell IV and stepmother Monique Dillard-Bothuell. The state seeks to end their parental rights for Charlie V and his siblings.
