What happened:

Police said the 21-year-old driver of a Chrysler Sebring was speeding when he lost control, struck a parked car and hit a tree near Wildemere and Thatcher streets.

A 9-month-old boy and a 11-year-old boy are in critical condition.

A 14-year-old girl, a 19-year-old woman and the driver were also seriously hurt.

Police said it doesn't appear most of the children were wearing seat belts or were in car seats.

Police said alcohol and drugs are not considered factors in the crash, but speed is.

Police said the driver had only been licensed for about a month before the crash.
