Former Detroit Lions player Mark Grabowski kidnaps son

Former Lions lineman Mark Grabowski accused of kidnapping 11-year-old son

RICHMOND, Mich. – When Kelly Evans went to pick up her son from his father's Milford home this past week it did not take long for her to figure out something was not right.

"There were no cars. The windows were all covered. The dogs were gone," she said.

There was no sign of her son, 11-year-old Connor Grabowski-Cracchiolo, or his father who shares custody of the young boy.

Authorities say former Detroit Lions defensive lineman Mark Grabowski kidnapped his son. The search for the two has extended beyond state lines.

As part of a custody agreement, the boy spends the summer with his father. During the school year he is supposed to be with his mother in Richmond. However, a week ago his father tried to enroll him in another school. He stopped answering phone calls and when he disconnected his phone, Evans knew trouble was ahead.

"Torture. Just waiting. Complete torture. Just wondering where he is, how he's doing," said Evans.

Photos and home videos of Connor provide Evans some comfort. She is using social media for help finding her son who she fears is in danger.

"I'm sure he is scared," she said.

The mother says she has been embroiled in a custody battle with Grabowski since the day Connor was born. She never expected it would come to this.

"Mark, we need you to bring him back. Connor needs to come back to his family and friends. He has so many connections here. His school is here. Please bring him home," Evans said.

Connor would have started 5th grade at Richmond Middle School this week. The Livingston County Sheriff's Department is leading the investigation.
