Kwame Kilpatrick seeks bond for release from prison while he awaits sentencing

Former Detroit mayor imprisoned after guilty convictions on several federal corruption charges

DETROIT – Former Detroit mayor Kwame Kilpatrick's defense team is asking the federal court to release him from prison on bond until his sentencing.

Kilpatrick, along with co-defendant Bobby Ferguson, were denied bond last week after a jury found them guilty on several corruption charges, including racketeering.
