The Detroit Police Department say a 43-year-old woman was assaulted in the area of Plymouth and Meyers in Detroit by Roderick Neely, 23. The victim was walking to a gas station when she alleged to have been approached by Neely at gunpoint and forced into his car.

He drove for a short time and then parked the car. He is alleged to have beaten the woman's face, pulled her clothes off and took a blow torch and burned her. The woman escaped by grabbing a tool and stabbing Neely in the eye.

Throughout the investigative process the victim remained steadfast in her sense of duty to ensure that this criminal was taken off the street, ending the rein of terror for all women in and around the city of Detroit.
