Man gets 30 days for dragging stroller with van

MUSKEGON, Mich. - A judge in Muskegon has sentenced a van driver to 30 days in jail for failing to stop after hitting and dragging a stroller with an 18-month-old boy inside.

Muskegon County District Judge Andrew Wierengo III issued the sentence Wednesday to Antonio K. Raglin after the 21-year-old pleaded no-contest to failure to stop at the scene of an injury accident and driving with a suspended license.

A no-contest plea isn't admission of guilt but allows a judge to convict and sentence a defendant.

Muskegon police say a woman was pushing the stroller June 25, 2013, when the van backed into them. They say the child wasn't hurt, and his mother had a scraped knee. Raglin has been jailed since Sept. 22 on weapons and other charges in a shooting case.
