Man gets prison time for crash that killed 2 Eastpointe children

David Leslie Lamberson pleaded no contest to drunken driving in January 2012 crash in Detroit

DETROIT – A Shelby Township man charged with being drunk when he caused a crash that killed two children in Detroit has been sentenced to prison.

Two-year-old Lavale Harvey Jr. and his 8-year-old sister Alana Lee were driving with their mother Jan. 8, 2012, when their car was hit head on Hoover near Seven Mile Road.

Lavale died instantly. His sister died days later from her injuries.

Their mother, Arlita Lee, was not seriously hurt.

David Leslie Lamberson pleaded no contest to two counts of operating while under the influence causing death. His blood-alcohol was 0.16.

He has been sentenced to 10 to 15 years in prison.
