22-year-old victim pulls into Fraser gas station for help

FRASER, Mich. - Detroit police are taking over the investigation into a drive-by shooting that left a 22-year-old man with a bullet wound in his back early Tuesday morning.

The victim pulled into a gas station in Fraser at Groesbeck and 14 Mile Road just after 5 a.m.

Fraser police said a 19-year-old passenger in the Saturn SUV told them the shooting happened in Detroit at 8 Mile and Schoenherr, but that they had driven up Groesbeck trying to find a place to call for help.

The victim was taken to a hospital. His condition wasn't immediately known.
