Man shot in Detroit over Air Jordan shoes

DETROIT - Detroit police say an 18-year-old man was shot Friday night when he refused to hand over his Nike Air Jordan shoes near Eaton Avenue and Birwood Street.

Police say an armed man in a Ford Fusion exited the vehicle and approached the victim, ordering him to give him his shoes. The victim refused and was shot once. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The shooter got back in the Fusion and fled southbound on Griggs Avenue, which is near Wyoming Avenue and Lyndon Street.

The shooter was described as a black man with a medium complexion standing about 6 feet tall. Police believe he is about 18 years old, too. He had a short haircut, was clean-shaven and was wearing a black T-shirt and blue jeans. Police consider him armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information on this shooting needs to contact Detroit police at 313-596-5240.
