DETROIT - Police are searching for someone who stabbed a man Monday morning at a bus stop at 7 Mile Road and Van Dyke in Detroit.
The suspect took off northbound on Van Dyke.
Police said Jaivon Harrison, 25, was taken to the hospital, where he is recovering.
"I couldn't believe it because he's just trying to go to work," said Laina Clopton, Harrison's aunt. "You can't go to work anymore."
It started off as a routine morning for Harrison until Clopton said he was approached by a man at the bus stop.
"The guy just pulled out a knife and said, 'Give me your wallet,'" Clopton said.
The two started to scuffle, and Harrison was stabbed once in the stomach and once in the back. He also has cuts on his arms and hands.
"Some lady came by and helped him to the gas station, and the gas station let him in, and that's when they called DPD and EMS," Clopton said. "It's very emotional because you can't even catch the bus without something like this happening."
Clopton had a message for the man who stabbed her nephew.
"He's a hard-working young man," she said. "Get out there and get your own job. It just wasn't right. You could have took his life."
Police are still searching for the man suspected of stabbing Harrison.
