Man thrown from motorcycle, run over by multiple cars in fatal Woodhaven crash

33-year-old Garden City man killed

WOODHAVEN, Mich. – A 33-year-old Garden City man was killed Thursday, when he was ejected from a motorcycle during a crash and run over by multiple cars in the middle of I-75, police said.

Troopers were called around 3 a.m. to southbound I-75 near King Road in Woodhaven.

Investigators said the motorcycle was involved in a crash, but it's unclear if there were multiple vehicles involved. The driver was thrown from the motorcycle and landed in the middle lanes of southbound I-75. He was struck multiple times by other vehicles.

The southbound lanes of I-75 were closed between Dix-Toledo and West roads for about four hours. Michigan Department of Transportation crews were on scene for the closure.

The Garden City man was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no other injuries, police said.

All of the drivers involved in the incident stopped and cooperated with investigators, police said.

The crash is still under investigation.
