MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. - A 29-year-old Michigan man who authorities say sexually assaulted and impregnated a girlfriend's 11-year-old daughter will be spend the next 25 to 56 years behind bars on a charge of first-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Trevaun C. Brooks of Warren pleaded guilty to the charge in August, the same day he was scheduled to go on trial in Macomb County Circuit Court.

Court records say he also pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Judge Mary Chrzanowski also said Brooks must register as a sex offender and may not have any contact with the victim or her family.

If he is released from prison Brooks will be placed on a lifetime electronic monitoring device.

The girl gave birth Aug. 9, 2011, at a Macomb County hospital.

DNA confirmed that Brooks was the father after an investigation by police.

Police said Brooks was in a relationship with the girl's mother and had lived with them.

Brooks previously worked as a janitor at a Mt. Clemens school.
