DETROIT – A road rage incident Tuesday morning in Detroit has put a woman in the hospital with nine bullet wounds.

Michigan State Police, who are withholding her name, say the woman will survive.
She was riding in the passenger seat of a Range Rover, which was involved in a traffic dispute Tuesday morning at 3rd Street and Bagley Avenue, near the MGM Grand Casino. The other driver, in a black Ford Expedition, followed the woman and her male driver north on the Lodge Freeway and then westbound on Interstate 94. Shots were fired on the freeway near Junction Street about 3:10 a.m.

A Local 4 photographer saw police putting evidence tags along the roadway, suggesting that bullet casings may have been recovered.
"The passenger, she was going through surgery at the time, so obviously we haven't been able to talk to her. The driver has been cooperative. We've been talking to him.," said Lt. Michael Shaw, of the Michigan State Police Metro Post.
Police described the man's wounds as "non-incapacitating."
Shaw reminds drivers to keep their cool, even if the other driver is the aggressor. Rather than escalating a confrontation with threatening gestures or aggressive driving, call 911 and get help from police.
The victims had been at the casino. It's not clear whether the other driver had also been there.
