MELVINDALE, Mich. – An employee suffered burns Wednesday morning during a fire at the Marathon plant in Melvindale.
The person was taken to Oakwood Hospital, where their condition was unknown.

The fire did prompt evacuations, but the fire was quickly extinguished and has since been cleared.
Sources tell Local 4 the incident was a hydrogen fire.
The plant is located near Schaefer Highway and Dix Street.
