Masked gunman robs party store in Waterford

Police say gunman shoots at clerks, steals all money in register

WATERFORD, Mich. – Waterford police have released video of a masked gunman robbing a party store.

Police said the gunman went into Anthony's Party Shop on Williams Lake Road just before closing time Sunday night and pointed a black semi-automatic handgun at two clerks who were working.

He demanded money, but when one of the clerk's questioned the authenticity of the gunman's weapon, the gunman fired it off just above the clerks' heads, police said.

Neither clerk was hurt, and ran out.

The video shows the gunman taking all of the money out of the register.

Police describe him as a white man, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 200 pounds. He was wearing a tan Carhartt jacket, black gloves, black and white camouflage pants, black gym shoes and a camouflage face mask.

Anyone with information on the gunman is asked to call Waterford police at 248-618-7515, or, to stay anonymous, contact the tip line at 248-674-COPS.
