GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich. - The parents of an 11-month-old who had drugs in her system have been charged with third degree child abuse.

Brianna and Devin Devereaux, 23 and 27, were arraigned Monday on third degree child abuse charges.

WPBN reports the incident happened back in June, involving their 11-month-old child.

Grand Traverse police initially believed the baby girl swallowed an unknown pill.

WPBN reports the investigation revealed that the child at some point ingested cocaine and an opiate. After an investigation by Grand Traverse County Sheriff's detectives and Child Protective Services, a report was sent to the Grand Traverse County Prosecutor's Office.

Deputies say EMS arrived on scene and administered Narcan to the little girl. The little girl has since been released from the hospital and is okay.
