4 Arrested after large fight, shots fired in Harper Woods

Dispute between teenagers lead to fight

HARPER WOODS, Mich. – Harper Woods police are still sorting out the details behind a large street fight involving teenagers.

The incident happened just after 6 p.m. Thursday, when when several 911 calls were made regarding 12 to 15 people fighting on the street in the 19700 block of Kenoosha.

Police said there were also reports of shots being fired.

As officers arrived at the scene, several teens ran away and two other groups of teens drove off in two vehicles at a high rate of speed, police said.

Police said they pursued the teens on foot and were able to apprehend four males on Moross Street just west of Harper.

The arrested teens were identified as three juveniles from Detroit and a 17-year-old from Harper Woods.

Officers on the scene said as they were conducting the investigation, they heard several more gunshots near their location.

During the investigation, officers recovered three spent shell casings in the street on Kenosha, but the weapon has not been located.

There are no reported injuries.
