7 women injured in Madison Heights hit-and-run crash on way home from bachelorette party

Police: Women in taxicab injured when pickup ran red light at 11 Mile Road, Stephenson Highway; pickup driver did not stop

MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich. – Madison Heights police are searching for a driver responsible for a hit-and-run crash Sunday morning that injured seven women heading home from a bachelorette party.

Police say about 2:30 a.m. a pickup truck ran a red light at 11 Mile Road and Stephenson Highway and slammed into a taxicab carrying the women, all from Livonia and Wayne.

The women suffered broken bones and internal injuries but are expected to recover.

Police said the suspect's vehicle is a black Dodge Ram pickup.
