A few Wednesday showers with sunshine, typical Michigan weather

Detroit goes back above 70 degrees

DETROIT – The last bits of instability linger on Wednesday with a slight chance of showers accompanied by partly sunny skies.  Morning lows will be in the 50s.  Afternoon highs will be in the lows 70s with a north wind 5 to 10 mph.

High pressure builds late Wednesday night  and Thursday.  Overnight lows will return to the 50s.  The more stable air will likely produce mostly sunny skies, and Thursday's daytime temps will reach the middle 70s.  It is winning weather for the Tigers' 1:05pm game against Cleveland at Comerica Park.

Winds from the southwest will bring warmer and then hotter air into Detroit and Southeast Michigan for Friday and the weekend.  Friday's afternoon temps will be near 80 and Saturday and Sunday will be above 80 degrees.  In fact, temperatures will push 90 degrees early next week.
