AUBURN HILLS, Mich. - The Oakland County Animal Control and Pet Adoption Center in Auburn Hills is operating without air conditioning.

Members of the Last Day Dog Rescue said Oakland County has been asking rescue groups to take the animals in their care.

Last Day Dog Rescue says nearly 500 animals are being kept at Oakland County Animal Control and Pet Adoption Center, and the air conditioning has been out for several days.

The rescue group is asking the public to adopt or foster animals from Oakland County if possible. If not, they're asking people to donate frozen water bottles or fans to help cool the animals down.
