Chrysler US auto sales up 8% in June

Automaker says it had its best June in 6 years

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. - Chrysler Group LLC on Tuesday reported its June 2013 U.S. sales were up 8 percent.

The automaker said the results were the best June in six years.
According to figures released by the automaker, the Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram Truck and FIAT brands each posted year-over-year sales gains in June compared with the same month a year ago. That's the 39th straight month of year-over-over gains.

The Ram Truck brand's 23 percent increase was the largest sales gain of any Chrysler Group brand in June.  "Last month Chrysler Group set seven individual vehicle line sales records. The fundamentals for continued industry gains in new vehicle sales remain intact," said Reid Bigland, Head of U.S. Sales.

Sales of the flagship Jeep Grand Cherokee were up 33 percent in June, the largest percentage sales gain of any Jeep brand vehicle in the month. It was the Grand Cherokee's best June sales in eight years. 

Chrysler Group finished the month with a 68-days supply of inventory (408,336 units).
