Early morning car crash claims life of 1 in Redford

Police: alcohol may be factor in crash that killed 25-year-old woman on West Grand River

REDFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A 25-year-old woman was killed during an early morning car crash in Redford Township.

The accident occurred on West Grand River between Beech Daily and Inkster around 4 a.m. Sunday.

The victim, a Detroit resident, was the passenger in a car driving west bound on Grand River. The driver left the roadway and struck a tree, police say.

The victim was pronounced dead on the scene and the driver of the car, a 25-year-old woman from Warren, was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Redford police are withholding the names of both women at this time and say alcohol may have been a factor in the crash
