EAST LANSING, Mich. - East Lansing police say three Michigan State University students have been sexually assaulted during the past few weeks by the same suspect.

The most recent assault was Thursday night in the parking lot outside Abbott Pointe Apartments on Abbott Road. Police say the suspect dragged the victim behind a dumpster where he physically and sexually assaulted her before he fled on foot northbound on Abbott Road.

The suspect was last seen on Abbott Road north of Saginaw Street. He is described as a white man with an average build and standing between 5 feet 5 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall. He is between 18 and 25 years old. He was wearing a faded red or pink shirt, shorts and gray shoes with white socks.

Police say two similar cases with the same suspect description occurred before Thursday night's assault. On April 20, a woman was dragged and sexually assaulted at a secluded area on Coolidge Road south of Lake Lansing Road.

The other incident was on April 26 in the 300 block of Charles Street. A woman was attacked while trying to enter her home. She also was dragged to a secluded area where she was physically assaulted. The man tried to sexually assault her, too.

Anyone with information on these assaults is asked to call East Lansing police at 517-319-6842.
