DETROIT - An Air Quality Alert is in effect for Friday as temperatures rise and wind speeds decrease.  Friday morning will be cool and dry with temperatures near 60.  Friday afternoon will be warmer with toxic ozone levels increasing.  Highs will be in the middle 80s.  Detroiters can cut down on air pollution levels by using public transportation, carpooling and not using lawn mowers and other gas-powered equipment.

Friday night will be mild and muggy with lows in the 60s.

Father's Day Weekend will be perfect for Dads who love the beach or pool as southerly winds shove the heat and humidity way up.  Saturday's highs will be near 90.  Saturday night will be warm and muggy requiring air conditioners to remain on.

Father's Day Sunday will be hot and humid with highs near 90 again.  There is a slight chance of showers, but the day will not be spoiled because storms will be scattered and form late in the day.

Early next week will remain very warm, and Summer begins at 7:09pm on Tuesday, June 20th.
