Former Rockwood police officer pleads guilty in inappropriate contact case

Christian Zieminski pleads guilty to 2 counts of willful failure to uphold the law

DETROIT – A former Rockwood police officer accused of having inappropriate sexual contact with a female prisoner while she was in his custody has pleaded guilty.

The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office said Friday that Christian Zieminski pleaded guilty to two counts of willful failure to uphold the law, a one-year misdemeanor. He had been charged with criminal sexual conduct and misconduct in office.

He also had forfeited any challenged to his release from the police department and has lost his Michigan Coalition of Law Enforcement Standards certification.

He will be sentenced on March 5.
