Frontier to end Grand Rapids-Denver service in Sept

CASCADE TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Frontier Airlines says it's ending its last service to Grand Rapids in September.

WOOD-TV says Frontier's last flight between Gerald R. Ford International Airport and its hub in Denver will be Sept. 8.

Frontier discontinued service from Grand Rapids to Milwaukee last year.

Two months ago, Southwest announced that it would start flying out of Ford Airport in August. Denver is one of four cities Southwest will service from Ford airport, which is in Kent County' Cascade Township.

The airport had 2.13 million passengers in 2012.
