DETROIT - 6:30am ET - Downpours turning to scattered trickles across Detroit and Southeast Michigan.  The region has light, scattered rain with temperatures in the 60s.  More showers and storms are possible later.  The latest weather forecast on Local 4 News Morning at 6:34am ET.


5:40am ET - Heaviest downpours moving across the Detroit River and big lakes.  Light and moderate showers linger with fewer lightning strikes.  Next Weather on the 4's on Local 4 News Morning at 5:44am ET.


5:21am ET - Cells of heavy rain moving over downtown Detroit and much of Southeast Michigan.  The lightning count continues to decrease on the Local 4 Lightning Tracker.  Another update on Local 4 News at 5:24am ET.


4:08am ET - Thunderstorms now entering Northwest Livingston County and northern Oakland County.  Gust front blowing through Pontiac.  Expect heavy rain and lightning to push through and toward Detroit and the rest of Southeast Michigan.


3:45am ET - The Severe Thunderstorm Warning fro Genesee County expires.  Thunderstorms with heavy downpours and lightning continue to race across Southeast Michigan at 35 mph to the southeast.  Latest storm tracking on Local 4 News Morning.


A severe thunderstorm warning remains in effect for Eastern Shiawassee and Genesee counties.

The line of severe thunderstorms detected are capable of producing damaging winds to around 60 mph. These storms are moving southeast at 35mph.

The warning includes areas surrounding these locations: Swartz Creek, Otisville, New Lothrop, Mount Morris, Montrose, Linden, Lennon, Grand Blanc, Goodrich, Gaines, Flushing, Flint, Fenton, Durand, Davison, Clio, Byron and Burton.
