I-75 back open after flooding causes delays

Power outage, no water pump caused major flooding to freeway

Headline Goes Here

You may want to plan some extra time as you head out on your morning commute. North and southbound lanes of I-75 at I-696 have been reopened, as water levels have receded.

Friday morning, north and southbound lanes of I-75 at I-696 were closed for hours due to flooding.

Rising water completely flooded the roadway.

A power outage in the area caused a water pump to not function, resulting in the major flood.  DTE Energy was able to restore power so the water pump could then function properly.  MDOT arrived on the scene, and after clearing debris away from drains, the water quickly receded.
