Investigators say Ypsilanti sex predator may have more victims

23-year-old Paul Joseph Creps charged for sexually assaulting 16-year-old girl; investigators believe he has victimized more

YPSILANTI, Mich. A 23-year-old Ypsilanti man is accused of sexually assaulting an underage girl, and police believe more victims could come forward.

Paul Joseph Creps faces two charges in a case involving a 16-year-old girl. However, the investigation is far from over.

The Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department wants the public to take a close look at Creps and a photo of his pickup truck. The Sheriff's Department believes more victims are out there.

Local 4 is told Creps lives in a home with his parents in the 2000 block of McGregor Road. Neighbors say they are surprised to hear of the criminal charges.

"I'm shocked because he's never done anything out of the ordinary," said Marilyn Kelley, a neighbor.

Investigators believe Creps used social media websites such as Facebook to prey on young girls. He would seek out friends and eventually the online relationship would lead to texting, if not more.

Detectives allegedly found images of teen girls on Creps' cellphone. Some images are of girls without clothes.

Not only do authorities believe there are more victims, they say it is possible this investigation could lead detectives across state lines.
