WATERFORD, Mich. - A 30-year-old female from Waterford told Police on Friday that her ex-boyfriend, Charles Anderson, attacked her in her apartment and strangled her until she was unconscious.

When she regained consciousness, the victim found a knife wound on her neck and her car was missing. Responding officers discovered that Anderson was a parole absconder for assault with a dangerous weapon and domestic violence.

The Michigan Department of Corrections had been actively attempting to take Anderson into custody prior to this incident.

Police found Anderson in the area of Ten Mile and Hoover roads and took him into custody without incident. He was interviewed and admitted to the attempted murder of the victim to prevent her from calling police.

Anderson also threatened to kill the victim's and his own family members.

The victim was treated and released from a local hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
