Michigan State Police: body found in Huron Township

Body found Tuesday night in Huron Township not far from where Flint woman's body was found in Ash Township on Monday

HURON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Michigan State Police have confirmed that a man's body has been found in Huron Township.

State police say a truck driver first found the body and called 911. The body is described as a man in his 20s.

Witnesses told Local 4 the body was found in a ditch along the north side of Will Carleton Road just east of Romine Road. Will Carleton Road forms the border between Wayne County's Huron Township and Monroe County's Ash Township. The rural area is just west of Flat Rock.

State police are handling the investigation. They have blocked off the area. Police are concerned the area has become a dumping ground for bodies.

Flint woman's body found Monday in Ash Township

On Monday night, a Flint woman's body was found in a ditch along Newburg Road, which is south of Will Carleton Road, in Monroe County's Ash Township. Michigan State Police identified the woman as 27-year-old Tanisha Colton, a mother of three.

Colton's death is being called a homicide. She was last seen alive on March 13 when she was leaving work.
