Newlywed charged in hubby heroin death

Husband, wife had been married just 22 days when he died

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – A newlywed wife was charged with supplying the heroin that killed her husband just 22 days after they were married.

Harold Cartwright died June 25, 2012 in part, the medical examiner determined, from heroin supplied by his wife. He was 43.

Kathryn Cartwright, 39, turned herself in to authorities to face a charge of delivering a controlled substance resulting in death.

Her preliminary exam is set for Oct. 24 and the investigation continues.

Harold Cartwright - or "Hoss" as his obituary called him - was a member of the United Carpenters Workers Local #525. He left behind three children and two grandchildren.
