Oakland County Sheriff's deputy injured in Pontiac

Deputy injures shoulder escorting a drunk woman from domestic assault scene

PONTIAC, Mich. – A drunk woman accused of domestic violence is in jail for assaulting an Oakland County Sheriff's deputy  Friday morning.

The deputy responded to the 50 block of North Telegraph in Pontiac for a domestic assault in progress.

According to the Sheriff's Department, the deputy was removing from the home the intoxicated woman responsible for the domestic assault when she hit the deputy in the face breaking his eyeglasses.

The two struggled and fell off the porch. The deputy sustained an injury to his right shoulder and arm. He was taken to McLaren Hospital.

X-rays determined the injury was minor and he was cleared to return to duty.

The 21-year-old woman from Hurricane, West Virginia is being held in the Oakland County Jail facing a variety of charges.
