2 men charged with armed robbery in Waterford

Police say men stole marijuana, other possessions from Waterford man

WATERFORD – Police responded Tuesday to an armed robbery complaint on the 3000 block of Herbell. The victim, a 17-year-old Waterford man, told Officers that two Hispanic men had pointed a sawed off shotgun at him and taken his cell phone, wallet, basketball jersey, and shoes.

The victim said he was skateboarding in the area when he was approached by the suspects, who were driving a a white Mercury Mountaineer. After taking the victim's property, the suspects fled.

According to officers, the victim knew one of the suspects, and had invited him to the area with the intent to sell him marijuana, which was also stolen by the suspects.

The suspects were located at Village Green Apartments in Waterford, where they were subsequently arrested. All of the stolen material was still in the vehicle.

The suspects were identified as 18-year-old Isaac Antonio Hinojosa of Waterford and 25-year-old Joel Leon of Keego Harbor. They were both arraigned and charged on Wednesday.
