Park-n-Riders turn Michigan parking lot into love nest

Men, women found performing sexual acts in parking lot

LYON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – At first glance, the Park-n-Ride lot off Interstate 96 and Milford Road in Lyon Township seems like any other typical parking lot. But if you look a little closer, you may have to cover your eyes.

It's a place you wouldn't expect it—men and women doing very adult things where children are dropped off from school and people meet up with coworkers carpool to work. The problem is, when these carpoolers get back to their cars, that's when they really get to work.

On a Monday afternoon at about 3:30, Local 4 reporters caught a woman jumping to a man's car. They talked for a bit and then … well, you know. They spent about 20 minutes in the car together before they went their separate ways.

Another day, we saw a couple on a "date" when the man pulled out a stethoscope. Not sure if they were playing doctor, or if it was some kind of unique house call. Minutes later, things got hot and heavy between the two in the front seat, in plain view for anyone to see.

At 4 p.m. on another day, Local 4 found a couple who didn't even try to hide their passion for each other—they stood outside of her car for a make out session. Another couple started out their parking lot rendezvous with kissing that turned into other sexual activities which can't exactly be described here.

"It's like a cheap motel, really cheap," carpooler Autumn Desjardins said.

The public parking lot is where families pick up loved ones and where school buses drop off students.

"I don't want my kids to see that stuff," said Mark Scott, who also uses the park-n-ride lot.

Many of the people Local 4 talked to said it was not the appropriate place for this kind of activity and asked where the police presence was.

"Of the things we would urge your viewers, if you do see some activity like this, I don't have a problem calling Channel 4. That's good," Oakland County Undersheriff Mike McCabe said. "Give us a call too and maybe we can do something about it."

McCabe said because of Local 4's findings, patrols will be stepped up immediately for the park-n-ride lot to make sure this activity stops. The sheriff's department said if caught, people can be charged with indecent exposure or disorderly conduct.
