Oakloosa announces lineup for first music festival

Oakloosa '13 at Historic Fort Wayne promises some of Detroit's newest and brightest musicians

DETROIT – The full music lineup for the 2013 Oakaloosa Music Festival has been announced.

The July event will feature more than two dozen of Detroit's newest and brightest musicians, as well as headlining acts Girl Talk and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony.

The philanthropic music fest, which is set to take place on Saturday, July 27, from noon until midnight, will be donating a portion of its proceeds to help with the restoration and preservation of Historic Fort Wayne, where it will be taking place.

Two spots still remain open for the winner of the Oakaloosa Battle of the Bands, which will take place during five days throughout July. Preliminary rounds will be held at the Hard Rock Café in Detroit at 9 p.m. on July 12 and 18, and in the Pike Room at the Crofoot in Pontiac on July 13 and 19.

The final round will be held on Wednesday, July 24 at 7 p.m. in the Crofoot Ballroo.
