Prosecutors said Evans and Witherspoon lured Hussein on Jan.18 out from a protected area inside a Citgo gas station on Hamilton Avenue in Highland Park.

It was alleged Hussein was shot several times when he refused to open a safe.

During the preliminary examination, Evans was admonished by District Court  Judge Brigette Officer when he spoke out while his wife was testifying.

The hearing ended with Evans and Witherspoon bound over to stand trial.

Evans will be tried on first degree murder charges.

Witherspoon will stand trial for felony murder.

Both men remain jailed without bond.
