Red Robin giving away free chili if Hell, Michigan freezes over

If Hell stays below 32 degrees between Feb. 19, Feb. 24 burger maker to offer free chili nationwide

HELL, Mich. – Red Robin will give away free chili if Hell freezes over-- Hell, Michigan that is.

The restaurant chain says if temperature in Hell stay below 32 degrees for at least a day between Feb. 19 and Feb. 24, then Hell has officially frozen over.

If this happens, the burger maker will warm up customers by giving the first 100 guests who visit participating restaurants nationwide a free cup of Red's Chili Chili on Feb. 26.

Hell Mayor John Colone will monitor temperatures and serve as Red Robin's local weather expert for the week.

Colone and his team of weather-monitoring "Hell-raisers" will alert guests if and when the city of Hell freezes over.

"With Hell freezing over, Red Robin is bringing tasty new meaning to this age-old expression," said Colone.  "As the official weather-watcher of Hell, I'll be rooting for cold temperatures so that Red Robin guests can enjoy this devilish deal."

The restaurant describes the meaty blend of beans, spices and hearty peppers, topped with cheddar, onions and tortilla strips, as a fiery-fun-time on a cold day in Hell.

"Offering all of America the chance to try our delicious, freshly prepared chili and having some fun in the process is classic Red Robin," said Denny Marie Post, Red Robin's senior vice president and chief menu and marketing officer. "We love to treat our guests to the best.  We brought our famous recipe black bean chili back to our menu this year along with the Chili Chili Cheeseburger.  On its own or with one of our craveable burgers, Red's Chili Chili™ is not to be missed."
