Video shows 8th-grader's disturbing beating in Inkster

Victim's mother says girl has been bullied all year, but this went way too far

INKSTER, Mich. – Video shows a 13-year-old girl under attack -- first by one girl but others quickly joined.

The Inkster middle school student was repeatedly slapped, punched and kicked. No one tried to break it up or help her.

"I started crying when I saw (the video)," said the victim's mother, Lasean Johnson. "She said, 'They jumped me, they jumped me,' and she spit out blood in the hallway."

Johnson rushed her daughter to the ER when she came home.

"She's had to have oral surgery and still needs a root canal. This is a problem," she said.

The attack happened last week as the girl got off a bus at her Inkster apartment.

This wasn't just some playground argument. Johnson said the 8th-grader has been taunted by bullies all year, but what happened last week went way too far.

"They're kicking her. They're beating her. She was kicked all up in her side. She has bruised ribs and her hair was all in disarray, her clothes and everything," said her mother. "The first thing I did was call the police."

The Local 4 Defenders have obtained a copy of the very detailed police report. Detectives in Inkster also are reviewing the video which was shot by a student. The victim was able to identify some of the girls and Local 4 is told one of them is 17 years old.
