2 more top Ficano aides resign

Top fundraiser cites health reasons

DETROIT - Wayne County Executive Bob Ficano has lost two more top aides.

Nader Fakhouri and and Dave Edwards have turned in their resignations.

Fakhouri, who served as assistant executive and was Ficano's top fundraiser, cited health reasons for stepping down.

As the chief in fundraising for Ficano, Fakhouri was named in a lawsuit filed earlier this week by a former county appointee who claimed being pressured to take part in political activities.

Dave Edwards was recently given a promotion in county government to become deputy director of information services.

That department was shaken earlier in the year when then-director Tahir Kazmi resigned after being hit with federal corruption charges.  Kazmi is accused of shaking down a county contractor.

Edwards cited personal reasons for resigning from his county post.
