Detroit middle school basketball coach facing additional sex charges

Antoine Jones accused of sexting his players

DETROIT – An assistant basketball coach at a Detroit middle school is facing new charges on allegations that he had inappropriate sexual contact with a boy.

The Wayne County prosecutor's office said Monday that 28-year-old Antoine Jones was arraigned and is due back in court later this month on charges of second-degree criminal sexual conduct in a case that involves a now-15-year-old boy.

The inappropriate contact allegedly happened from June 2014 until February of this year.

Jones was ordered last month to stand trial on sex charges involving boys whom he coached. The boys ranged in age from 13 to 15. They testified about the exchange of inappropriate messages and videos, and at least one boy said he was touched inappropriately.

Jones was earlier placed on unpaid administrative leave from Holmes Elementary-Middle School.
