DETROIT – More trouble is brewing for the Detroit Public Schools Community District, as a new school year approaches.
A new batch of alleged theft and fraud cases were detailed Wednesday in a report for the district.

The district is currently at the center of a kickback scandal, involving a dozen former employees and vendor Norman Shy.
The new cases include an unreported payroll error that overpaid a district employee more than $50,000.
Also included in the report were cases of fraudulent teaching credentials and missing equipment and money.
