Mother, son duo caught stealing election sign in Waterford

WATERFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Waterford Police received a report of a person getting out of a dark SUV and removing an election sign supporting President Barack Obama before noon Sunday.

It happened at the intersection of Crescent Lake Road and Pontiac Lake Road.

Police were able to locate the vehicle and the suspect, 17-year-old Kevin Kramer of Waterford.

Kramer admitted to stealing the sign and was cited for larceny.

Police recovered the sign from his mother's garage. They later learned the suspect vehicle was being driven by Kramer's mother, who also admitted to stopping the vehicle so her son could steal the sign.
